Maliseet Road and Principale Street - Stormwater and Drainage Upgrades - Madawaska Maliseet First Nation

The Proposed Project

The project will include the installation of storm infrastructure to collect stormwater along Main Street/Rue Principale (1.15 km) and Maliseet Road (400 m). It will also include full road infrastructure (base, sub-base, asphalt, and curb) to rebuild the road for proper surface drainage. The work is part of a storm water management plan for the community. Project activities include site preparation, installation of piping, levelling, construction, and site restoration.

March 24, 2026 - Indigenous Services Canada issued its Notice of Determination and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
