• Due December 4.   I am very concerned about the destruction of the trees, wetlands, and environment to, ironically, create batteries for electric vehicles.  The near Arctic is a very environmentally sensitive area home to caribou and many other animals.  Please don’t build a mine on their home. Please look for other ways to obtain lithium and metals. I am concerned that fish were caught to see what kind of fish live there.  Please switch to humane non lethal ways to identify animals.  I am very saddened that fish were killed to test for pollution.  Please stop lethal sampling and acute lethality testing of fish, frogs, birds, etc. Please switch to Non Animal Methods, or humane non lethal bio monitoring.  There are definitely effective non animal methods of ecotoxicology Please do not build this mine.  It cuts right through the homes of Indigenous people, most of whom do not want their homes and ...

• Both personally, and as an individual trained as an ecotoxicologist I am deeply opposed to this project. The environmental implications of this project are staggering. Rare earth metal mining is extremely destructive, requiring enormous areas of land to be mined to produce the desired elemental quantities. Permitting this project to progress would not only culminate in geological upheaval on an immense scale but would also result in the potential release and bioaccumulation of trace metals, along with radioactive elements and other chemical substances. These could negatively impact the health of aquatic and terrestrial wildlife proximate to the proposed location with potential eventual population level effects. First, this mine will be located on the George River caribou herd grounds. As the George River herd population has currently reached critical status, a disturbance on this scale could have a significant negative impact on these animals’ recruitment ...

To return upon them, in my opinion the possibility of truly purifying the waste water is not realistic.  This will affect many important and vulnerable populations of animals, caribou and salmon just to name two, not to mention any impacts it may have on human populations not only in Kangiqsualujjuaq, but also in other Ungava communities were the contaminants to spread into the bay.

• 46 9.4 GEOLOGICAL MAPPING 2012 In 2012, Quest conducted a property-wide bedrock mapping program to rule out any undiscovered REE or other types of mineralization on the Strange Lake Property. A total of 84 samples were collected during this program. The results do not affect the resource estimation. 9.4.1 Strange Lake B-Zone Prefeasibility Study Work A 1,000-m drilling program was planned by AMEC of Mississauga, Ontario, to drill geomechanical and geotechnical monitoring holes for the prefeasibility study.
