Infield Concourse Hardstands & Taxiway Connections

The Proposed Project: Infield Concourse Hardstands & Taxiway Connections

This project involves the following:

As part of the Greater Toronto Airports Authority's (GTAA's) Toronto Pearson Airport Longterm Investment in Facilities & Terminals (LIFT) Program, Infield Concourse Hardstands and associated infrastructure are proposed to be constructed on the Airfield.

The new Infield Concourse Hardstands are to be located just northwest of the existing Infield Concourse, with the function of processing additional passengers and to serve as aircraft parking. This project scope includes:

  • Construction of 245,000 square metres of pavement for aircraft parking and maneuvering.
  • New high mast lighting, hydrant fueling, triturator building, fuel tank and dispensing for bus operations and other equipment and infrastructure to support aircraft servicing and passenger boarding.
  • The relocation of Taxiway N north from its current location and connections between the new hardstands and existing taxiways.
  • New drainage infrastructure including retention pond and trench, and oil/water interceptors will be constructed to manage stormwater quantity and quality.

Construction will consist of excavation, clearing and grubbing, utility removals/relocations, site grading, utility installation, paving, line work, lighting installation, concrete pouring and supporting boarding infrastructure.

Several sustainability best practices will be incorporated into the projects design and implementation for the wider Toronto Pearson Airport Longterm Investment in Facilities & Terminals (LIFT) Program.
