Opposition to the nuclear repository

There is nothing clear about this nuclear dump project.  We in Northwestern Ontario feel like the Nuclear industry is up here like gun slingers handing out money to sway struggling small towns to approve their project. I have gone out of my way to attend both industry experts and opposing experts and heard both sides.  At this  point there is too much ambiguity in the lack of details in this very dangerous project.  In particular the transportation of radioactive material on northern substandard highways.  The accident frequency with tractor trailers is the highest in Canada.  I don't think we have the infrastructure for this at this point.  You did not even include this in the determination of choosing Ignace.  You have taken advantage of a struggling town with a struggling often changing town council.  This kind of manipulation reminds me of dark times of the past - like the Minemata disease in the same area.  We are aware historically of the downstream destruction of chemicals and now radioactive material underground in containers you do not know will withstand a lifetime of sitting.  I am ashamed of your decision.  I just want to say that we are technologically advanced to move this and we should develop the technology to store in place.

Sincerely Norman Sponchia
