New Nain Airport Project
Notice of Time Limit Suspension with Reasons
Ottawa — August 7, 2024 — As of March 28, 2024, the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC) suspended the 180-day time limit for the planning phase under the Impact Assessment Act for the New Nain Airport Project proposed by the Nunatsiavut Government (the proponent).
IAAC has taken this action in consideration of a request from the proponent that the time limit be retroactively suspended starting from March 28, 2024, in order that it may have sufficient time to provide IAAC with a notice that sets out:
- how it intends to address the issues referred to in the Summary of Issues, provided to the proponent on February 27, 2024; and
- a Detailed Project Description that includes the information prescribed by the Information and Management of Time Limits Regulations.
When the proponent has provided IAAC with its response to the Summary of Issues and the Detailed Project Description, IAAC will post a notice that the prescribed activity is completed, and the 180-day time limit will resume.
