The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed to demolish infrastructure at the 5th Canadian Ranger Patrol Group (5 CRPG) site in support of site redevelopment. The project will include demolition of four existing duplexes (Buildings 1 – 11), rehabilitation of the existing area, and construction of a new parking lot complete with storm drainage, electrical light fixtures and potential electrical vehicle supply equipment stub outs. The estimated area of the site to be rehabilitated is approximately 2,600 and accounts for approximately 50% of the area of the buildings to accommodate the new parking lot. The site location is within the active 5 CRPG site, which is located approximately 3 kilometres northwest of Canadian Forces Base 9 Wing Gander in Gander, Newfoundland and Labrador.
