Nipissing First Nation: Cultural Center Construction – Public Comments Invited

April 23, 2024 - Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the construction of a new Cultural Center Project, located in the community of Nipissing First Nation is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. 

To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

Nipissing First Nation is proposing this project to develop a new cultural center that will provide culturally relevant services for the community. Physical activities will include earth works pertaining to site preparation such as clearing of trees, grubbing, lot servicing and connections to water and sanitary services. The total footprint of the new facility will be approximately 3,600 m2.
