April 16, 2024 – Fisheries and Oceans Canada, as the project proponent and funding agency, and Transport Canada, as the permit approval authority under the Canadian Navigable Waters Act (CNWA), must decide whether the proposed Whitby Harbour Sediment Remediation Project, located in Whitby, Ontario, is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this decision, Fisheries and Oceans Canada and Transport Canada are inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment.
