Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada intends to make a determination regarding whether the carrying out of the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada is inviting public comments until May 14, 2024 respecting that determination.

All comments received will be considered public [and may be posted online].  For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) intends to build two storage buildings to store laboratory chemicals (50 m2) and farm pesticides (201 m2) at the AAFC Morden Research and Development Center near Morden, Manitoba. The project also includes: 1. demolition of an existing old pesticide storage building (25 m2), 2. trenching for water, sewer, and electrical services from existing services, 3. constructing a 635 m2 parking lot and driveway, and 4. fencing a 2900 m2 area around the buildings with a new chain-link fence and sliding gates
